En Route all day somewhere along....
Kona - Honolulu - San Francisco - Minneapolis - Amsterdam - Manchester
I know today we were at Minneapolis, 'cos we were there a long time.
There had been a computer failure (the whole airport system) before the end of
checking in, so they couldn't allocate seats.
After an hour or so waiting, they tell the passengers to find a seat.
We can't depart until loaded luggage is checked against those on the plane -
done by computer. Which one? The one that's not working.
At this point we are told there will be a further delay - remember we are all on
the plane now - so they will show us a comedy to pass the time. I was expecting
a half hour episode of Frasier, but no, we get a feature film.
Mid-film they announce that there is still no sign of the computers coming back up yet so they will check the luggage manually - everything off, check the label against passenger, then everything back on.
The film finishes, then sometime after that we take off - a fair number of hours late.
