Don't need to leave until 1400 so had a last walk about Nice.
Firstly to the flower market where, today, they are selling
flowers. The intermittent fish stalls take the edge off the
delicate fragrances of the flowers a bit, though.
A stall selling glace fruits was interesting - since you only see
glace cherries in the UK, whole glace oranges and peaches made a
jolly change.
From the flower market we walked gently along the prom and even sat a while, overheating in the sun. A brief diversion into the town to do some real shopping, before they closed for lunch, and then back to the prom and the beach and a restaurant/bar for a coffee and look out at the Azure Mediterranean Sea.
I couldn't bear to bring my car to the Cote d'Azur - everywhere you look they are parked with about 6 inches at the front and rear requiring a multi-point manoeuvre to get out (if you can at all)
Back to the hotel, stopping off for a crepe for lunch, and do a bit of re-packing to get the purchases packed away in safe places.
Got the bus to the airport, then everything else ran to time - 16.50 flight, arrive 17.50, courtesy bus to car parking place and on the A40 at about 18.50 then home at 22.00 (having stopped for toilets and petrol).
