A few pictures of our expedition to the Transit of Mercury.
Having spent 3 days and loads of money in Las Vegas we headed off to Death
Valley for the transit.
We stopped and set up about 25 minutes before ingress.

The Team Photo, just after ingress
Val had a mild panic attack when she was taking a first look
through binoculars whilst Andrew set up the telescope - she thought we had got
the timing wrong.
Through the "bins" she saw the sunspot (about where Mercury should be)
and thought the transit had started - these time zones can be a bit of a problem
at times.
(Yes I know we should have just had a timepiece set to UT)

Mid-ish viewed from America's lowest point - Badwater, CA
We watched it out, but the seeing was so bad Mercury egressed several times across the "boiling" solar limb.
